Sky Brown is to be Britain’s youngest summer Olympian after the 12-year-old qualified for Team GB’s first skateboarding squad.
Sky, who will turn 13 before the games begin on July 23, qualified to compete through her third position in world rankings.
She will join the British team with Bombette Martin, 14, a Birmingham athlete who now lives in Manhattan. Both youngsters are honing their skills overseas. Sky, who has a British father and a Japanese mother, trains at home because there are no skate parks in Takanabe on the Japanese island of Kyushu.
